DIY New England Main Page

Greetings. Welcome to the pages for DIY New England 2011, one of the annual events for the hobbyist loudspeaker designer. There are several other similar events held around the country as well.

What is it?

2011 will be the twelvth year of the amateur Do-It-Yourself loudspeaker builder event held in various places around the country, number ten for New England. They are held by informal groups of enthusiasts as an excuse to spend an entire day doing nothing but listening to loudspeaker systems, eating hors d'oevres and fast food, BSing on other topics and last, but not least, learning something in the process (one would hope related to design of loudspeaker systems).

When is it?

DIY NE 2011 will be on Saturday, Oct. 15th, 10:00 a.m. Please, no early birds! I need setup time.

Most of the main events around the country are held in the September to November time frame each year now with some holding "Spring Warmups" as well.

Where is it?

This year's event will again be held in my (modestly sized) home in Canton, MA. I have included links to maps and driving directions at the bottom of this page.

NOTE:

Be aware that there is an error in all but the most detailed of the MapQuest maps for my street. This is explained with the maps.

I have somewhat limited parking, but there is a large parking area beside the ballpark within view of the house. It's a very short walk, so you may have to drop off any equipment you bring, then park. So far, with me parking my cars there, we've had room for most cars.

Directions

I am in Canton, MA, near the junction of I-95 and I-93 (also known as the 128 Loop around Boston), on the southwest side of Boston.
