These are a few shots from DIY NE for 2011. I'd hoped to put up more, but several weren't worth showing. I took a short "movie" using my digital camera that turned out alright, but it's 132M and only a few minutes long! I had the camera turned sideways. I found out just now that only the camera software will show it upright.
We had a nice variety of systems this year. Of special note is the system by Les. It's a "unipolar" planar magnetic system that is under patent. This is one of the most unique systems I've ever seen or heard.
Other systems present were:
- "MOABS" - Bill S. (billschu)
- "Overnight Sensations" - Tod D. (brokencrank)
- "Statement Monitors" - Chris (BeerParty)
- "AviaTrix MTM" - Chris (BeerParty)
- "AviaTrix TM" - Chris (BeerParty)
- 2.5 Way Towers: Peerless HDS Nomex 831735, Dayton dc28 - Ryan O. (Rotech)
- "Unipolar" Planar Magnetic w/Active Crossover - Les H. (LAH)
- Dipole 3-way - Dual Peerless 10" - SS 15W/4531G - Seas DXT (using the UE v2) - Dave R. (dlr)
- "Chameleons" - SB Acoustics 2-way (updated with current SB tweeter, not yet optimized) - Dave R.

The pictures below are all of the unique "Unipole Radiator Loudspeaker" patented by Les Heavner (Patent No. US 7,747035 B1). This wwas issued last year. I overheard someone who sounded incredulous as I came into the end of a discussion. The comment was "cardboard". I thought it was a joke. It was not. These prototypes are very special.
